Deepika Padukone, who started her film career with the Kannada film ‘Aishwarya’ some 16 years ago at the age of 20, got her first big success on the big screen from the Hindi film ‘Om Shanti Om’, but do you know? It is true that all the films in which Deepika Padukone has entered only for item songs or special appearances, all of them have been flops. Isn’t it surprising! Let’s tell the whole story in detail.
These days, director Atlee, who is making his first Hindi film ‘Jawaan’ with Shahrukh Khan, is busy in a new Guna Bhag. There are discussions that Deepika’s item song shot for this film might not make it to the big screen. On the big screen, Deepika will be seen in producer Aditya Chopra and director Siddharth Anand’s film ‘Pathan’ in the new year. Both of them are trying their best to present India’s biggest action spectacle through this film.
Shah Rukh Khan plays a RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) agent in the film ‘Pathan’, which is going to release on January 25, and in this film, two more RAW agents of Yash Raj Films Spy Universe i.e. Salman Khan as Tiger and Hrithik as Kabir. Discussions have been going on to bring Roshan as well. For this film, Siddharth Anand filmed an item song ‘Besharam Rang’ on Deepika and this song blew the color of the faces of all the people associated with the film. Thankfully, Deepika is not in the film just for this item song.
Significantly, all the films in which Deepika has done item numbers so far, all of them have flopped at the box office and this trend continues till Rohit Shetty’s film ‘Circus’. Earlier, Deepika Padukone did item numbers in Shah Rukh Khan’s Billu, director Rohan Sippy’s Dum Maro Dum, Bombay Talkies, a four-film series, and producer-turned-director Dinesh Vijan’s Raabta. And all these films have been flops.
Not only this, in all the films in which Deepika Padukone has made a special appearance, all those films have also been flops. These films include ‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’, ‘Zero’ and ’83’. It is said that director Ayan Mukherjee came to know about this just before the release of his previous film ‘Brahmastra Part One Shiva’ and due to this he removed his special character of Amrita from this film. Only a slight glimpse of him is seen at one place in the film.
