Bollywood Hungama has now learned about the cut list in Pathan. The inquiry committee had asked for more than 10 cuts, most of which are related to dialogues. At two places, the word ‘Raw’ was replaced by ‘our’ according to the context. ‘Langde Lulle’ was replaced by ‘broken broken’. The word ‘PMO’ was dropped, while ‘PM’ was replaced by President or Minister in 13 places.
Then, the ‘Ashok Chakra’ was removed and replaced with ‘Veer Award’, ‘Ex-KGB’ with ‘Ex-SBU’ and ‘Shrimati Bharatmata’ with ‘Our Bharatmata’. In the dialogue ‘Scotch could not be found cheaper than this’, ‘scotch’ was replaced by ‘drink’. A change was then made to the text appearing at one point in the film, replacing ‘Black Prison, Russia’ with ‘Black Prison’.

In the end three changes were made to the song ‘Besharam Rang’. Close up shots of the hips, ‘side pose (partial nudity)’ shots and scenes of sensual dancing moves during the song ‘Bahut Tang Kiya’ were removed or reduced and replaced with ‘appropriate shots’. However, the CBFC cut list does not mention how many seconds of shots have been censored. Also, it is not clear whether the shots of the orange swimsuit that caused the furore have been retained.
Following these changes, the CBFC granted the censor certificate to the makers of Pathan on 2 January. The film received a U/A certificate and its length, as mentioned on the certificate, is 146 minutes. In other words, Pathan is 2 hours 26 minutes long.
Apart from Shah Rukh and Deepika, John Abraham will also be seen in the lead role in Pathan. Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathan will see a tremendous combination of VFX and action, a glimpse of which has been found in the teaser. Pathan film will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages on January 25, 2023.
